Drainage and pipe renovation and expansion of the district heating network in Zurich Seefeld
Zurich, Switzerland
As part of the energy network Tiefenbrunnen, the district heating network in Zurich's Seefeld district is being expanded to supply buildings with climate-friendly energy from Lake Zurich. At the same time, the existing utility lines are being renovated.
Due to the dense development, implementation is technically and logistically challenging. District heating pipes with diameters of up to 500 mm are being integrated into the existing network. In addition, the renovation of deep sewer pipes, water, gas, electricity, and communication lines, the high groundwater level, and the need to maintain traffic are complicating the construction work.
TBF + Partner AG took on the overall planning on behalf of the City of Zurich Civil Engineering Office and Energie 360° AG – from the tender process to implementation. In addition to integrating the new district heating pipes, TBF also coordinated the renovation of existing pipes and ensured smooth implementation while operations continued.
