Optimisation of the bicycle network and planning of improvement measures
Grosshöchstetten, Switzerland
The municipality of Grosshöchstetten is investing in a sustainable mobility future: based on existing planning principles, TBF + Partner AG developed a well-thought-out bicycle network that optimally links cantonal and municipal routes and creates safe connections. Key network gaps were identified and supplemented with concrete action plans to close them. In dialogue with cantonal and regional stakeholders, coordinated solutions for the municipality's local cycle network were developed. In addition, weak points in pedestrian traffic and on school routes were analysed and integrated into the planning. Signalling and marking plans as well as well-founded rough cost estimates enable realistic and phased implementation.
TBF accompanied the project from network planning to submission to the 5th generation agglomeration program – for a safe, seamless, and future-oriented infrastructure for non-motorized traffic.
