What characterizes me?
Curiosity and a sense of belonging to the ecosystem around us drive my interest in strategies for climate change adaptation, particularly in urban contexts, where environmental pressure is intertwined with social and economic complexity. I am fascinated by understanding how human beings, even in their fragility with respect to climate change, can build collective and resilient responses by rethinking the spaces in which they live through more sustainable and inclusive logics.
In my interdisciplinary journey - from history to geography to climatology - I have developed a systemic view of territorial dynamics and the urgency of integrating environmental knowledge into urban planning. In this context, I strongly believe in the crucial role of cooperation between public agencies, local communities, private stakeholders and active citizens. Only through a structured and continuous dialogue between the different actors in the territory is it possible to build effective and flexible policies capable of responding to climate challenges while at the same time enhancing local specificities.
I have no easy answers, but I am convinced that a participatory approach, based on shared goals and inclusive governance tools, can generate profound transformations. Adaptation is not just a necessity: it is an opportunity to rethink our cities as places that are more just, livable, and in balance with the environment.
